Located in Stokes County, NC, these are part of the Sauratown Mountain Range. I am very blessed to live only minutes from this place. I’ve never really experimented with black and white photography, but, I am loving how this came out.

I am still trying to figure out what it is about this photo that I really like. Maybe it’s the colors? The light? Or just the simplicity of the image. This is a random bush in my front yard. I was just out walking one evening, and it caught my eye. I think the it was the colors and light that caught my eye. I still don’t know why I took this shot, but I am glad I did, as it has become one of my favorite images to date.

Taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T6
This past summer I took some new butterfly shots. I am so in love with these. I took several and will share them in a few different posts. All of these were taken in my front yard mainly. I didn’t really see them start to come around until the last part of summer. I did, however, learn more of the flowers that attract them and would like to plant more next year in hopes that it will attract more butterflies. Therefore, more beautiful butterfly pictures and opportunities to learn about them.

All photos were taken with my Canon Rebel T6.
I took these while sitting on the porch at my friend’s home. He had just finished filling up the bird feeders. As we sat there and talked, I noticed the birds coming and going. They would land for a few seconds and then fly away. A few moments later, the same birds or different birds would return to eat more food. As I there I began to think that if God takes care of the birds, He will for sure take care of me. These birds do not worry about where their next meal will come from. They just live from day to day and continue to eat. There are many times in my life when I do not know the next step I will take, or the path ahead may seem a little uncertain. It’s in these kind of moments when observing the birds, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness in providing for my needs. He never fails. He never has and He never will.
Outside of the lessons I am taught, the birds are plain fun to photograph and has even interested in the possibility of bird watching and learning more about them. God is so good and amazing! Be encouraged my friend!

I love watching ducks as they paddle their way through the water. I love watching the quite ripples trail off behind them as they swim off into the evening sun. These photos were taken at Dan Nicolas Park in Salisbury, NC.

This little guy(or girl?) loves to come around. I’ve heard they are not good for your yard, but I just leave him be. He seems to stay in his home in the woods.

More beautiful garden photos from my visit to the Reynolda Gardens in Winston Salem, NC. I don’t know that I will ever get enough of this place!

I love the fact that I live so close to this place. This is one of the reasons I love living in the area that I live in. I love staying in the country. Every since I moved to the city I currently reside in about 5 years ago, I fell in love with the place. Living here has also afforded me the opportunity to have easy access to places like this. I didn’t think I would end up saying here long to be honest, but I am so glad I did. I don’t think I will be going anywhere anytime soon. I look forward to sharing more about this small, but beautiful part of the world that I live in.

Something about evening skies that always fascinates me. Not only are they beautiful, but they also remind me that tomorrow is a new day. A new day to start over. A new day to get it right. Another day to enjoy this beautiful life. This is probably something you will see me talk a lot about.
