New Blog Ideas

So today, I wanted to talk about a couple of ideas I have for this blog. I think I’ve written about something similar to this a while back, but I want to touch on it again. I am so thankful for each and every one of you that visit and read my post and enjoy my work. I love writing and sharing my photography journey with you. However, I’d like to give you some insight into the direction, or a direction I’d like to take my blog. I’m not going to necessarily change the blog, but, more so something I will be adding to the blog. Here’s what it is….

Over the last year, I’ve tried to get back into posting more regularly. I’ve done better, however, I still have room to improve in that area. I don’t feel too bad about it though because this blog has mainly been a hobby blog that I use to show my love for all things photography. This year I would like to take it a tiny step forward.

Most of my work that I post here is a bit polished, meaning, when I post something, it’s typically the best of what I have to present to you. I think in the beginning of this blog, I started it because I had plans for it to be my professional site and I also had other goals for my photography. However, while I still have ambitions to be the best photographer that I can, my goals have changed slightly. So, with that you may see a bit more variety in the pictures I post, and the type of post that I share.

Here is a list of some of the things I plan to start writing and posting about

  • Photo Projects
  • Favorite Inspirational Photo/Art Books
  • Simple Moments of Life
  • Photo Nature Journal Exploration
  • Behind the Scenes Videos

This is just a small list of ideas that I have. While photography will remain the central theme for my blog, I am excited to incorporate these ideas. I do think this will help me when I don’t have as much photography to post and share. I am especially excited for the “Photo Projects” category. I think this category alone will help me to post more regularly. So excited and so many plans. I look forward to taking you on this new journey with me.

Sauratown Mountain Range

Located in Stokes County, NC, these are part of the Sauratown Mountain Range. I am very blessed to live only minutes from this place. I’ve never really experimented with black and white photography, but, I am loving how this came out.

Lovely Light and Colors

I am still trying to figure out what it is about this photo that I really like. Maybe it’s the colors? The light? Or just the simplicity of the image. This is a random bush in my front yard. I was just out walking one evening, and it caught my eye. I think the it was the colors and light that caught my eye. I still don’t know why I took this shot, but I am glad I did, as it has become one of my favorite images to date.

New Butterfly Images

This past summer I took some new butterfly shots. I am so in love with these. I took several and will share them in a few different posts. All of these were taken in my front yard mainly. I didn’t really see them start to come around until the last part of summer. I did, however, learn more of the flowers that attract them and would like to plant more next year in hopes that it will attract more butterflies. Therefore, more beautiful butterfly pictures and opportunities to learn about them.

Observation Lessons From Birds

I took these while sitting on the porch at my friend’s home. He had just finished filling up the bird feeders. As we sat there and talked, I noticed the birds coming and going. They would land for a few seconds and then fly away. A few moments later, the same birds or different birds would return to eat more food. As I there I began to think that if God takes care of the birds, He will for sure take care of me. These birds do not worry about where their next meal will come from. They just live from day to day and continue to eat. There are many times in my life when I do not know the next step I will take, or the path ahead may seem a little uncertain. It’s in these kind of moments when observing the birds, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness in providing for my needs. He never fails. He never has and He never will.

Outside of the lessons I am taught, the birds are plain fun to photograph and has even interested in the possibility of bird watching and learning more about them. God is so good and amazing! Be encouraged my friend!

Afternoon With Ducks

I love watching ducks as they paddle their way through the water. I love watching the quite ripples trail off behind them as they swim off into the evening sun. These photos were taken at Dan Nicolas Park in Salisbury, NC.

Hello My Little Friend

This little guy(or girl?) loves to come around. I’ve heard they are not good for your yard, but I just leave him be. He seems to stay in his home in the woods.

Danbury, NC Trip 2024

Let’s go back some! I remember that this was a very beautiful day. From the photos, I am sure this is not hard to tell. These are photos from October 5, 2024. It was actually a very warm day still. We drove my friend’s convertible with the lid down. We occasionally like to take little adventure trips together. It had been a while since we both had come to Danbury, NC. We were looking for something simple, fun and local. This place is only about 15-20 minutes from my home. We decided to visit different parts of the Dan River. I do remember that I also dropped my sunglasses into the river on accident, so I am sure some fish is wearing them right now.

While there we also visited Moratock Park. A small, but very charming park which is also located along the Dan River. We learned of some of the historical significance of the area.

Last of all we visit a cute little country store. The workers were very nice. Definitely a place I look forward to going back to.
